General Manager Responsibilities
General Managers are salaried exempt employees responsible for managing a Carl's Jr. Restaurant averaging $1 - $2 million in annual sales. The duties of a General Manager include, but, are not limited to the following:
- Responsible for providing our guests a healthy clean environment
- Responsible for serving hot safe food to our guests
- Responsible for generating sales by providing excellent guest service
- Responsible to ensure adequate staffing of employees
- Responsible for hiring/firing/disciplining/training/promoting employees
- Responsible for scheduling employees based on sales trends
- Responsible to delegate employee tasks
- Responsible for following and ensuring company standards and policies
- Responsible for issuing breaks and rest periods for employees
- Responsible for employee and guest safety in the restaurant
- Responsible for inventory control and ordering processes
- Responsible for involvement in local store marketing to increase sales
- Responsible to ensure general repair and maintenance of equipment or request a maintenance technician
- Responsible for daily cash control and reporting
- Responsible to complete weekly accounting paperwork
- Responsible to handle guest complaints professionally
Performing these obligations consistently and according to company standards require that a General Manager spend more than 50% of his/her job in exempt duties as described above.
